Bought this for my setter who has an injury to his face to stop him scratching. It can be attached to a collar to keep it secure. I am assuming it is comfortable as he doesn’t try to get it off and happily sleeps in it. Material has been durable. Haven’t tried washing it just wiped it down with a baby wipe. Only slight issue was initially a bit hard to blow up there is knack to it and once you figure it out fairly easy to inflate. I left it with a little give in it so more comfortable as when fully inflated quite rigid. He has worn it for 2 weeks and no damage despite his attempts to scratch his face, wearing it in the garden, scaping it on the wall and sleeping in it on the patio.

This is a great alternative to the plastic cone but might not be the best depending on what you’re trying to prevent your dog from doing.Pros:•soft•easy to fit, take on and off•wider field of vision•easier to eat and drink•doesn’t get caught on walls and doors or small children, adult shins etc•if fitted properly prevents dog from licking nether regionsCons•wouldn’t prevent scratching head/neck area•doesn’t prevent dog from licking/chewing paws•if not tight enough or secured properly, dog can reach to lick nether regions•dog can’t lay head flat for restingWe found it best that we alternated between this and the plastic cone for different times of day. The plastic cone allowed our dog to lay flat for sleeping, this cushion can make it difficult for dogs to lay down comfortably. Quality seems okay for the price, I worry the Velcro will get worn down quickly but time will tell. Size guides and measurements were accurate, a size L fits our “large” adult golden doodle (~25kg).

We got this for my son’s French bulldog, which had an eye infection that it kept wanting to scratch. The rigid plastic ‘Collar of Shame’ that the vets gave him was cumbersome and didn’t allow for eating or a comfortable sleep. This inflatable one is much softer and does the job well in a more compact and comfortable way. It was needed for a few days only. but has since been used again. Recommended.

We have a very large Alaskan Malamute who had injured his hind leg and we needed something to stop him licking or biting it. We had an old large cone but knew it wasn’t very comfortable for him, the vet recommended an inflatable collar to do the job so we came across this and bought the XL grey collar. I cannot fault the product itself, it is well made, easy to put on and was clearly much more comfortable for our 10yr old Malamute, and the grey colour in particular also looks good. BUT, it simply did not stop our dog reaching his injury at all, which the cones does. Within a short time of wearing this inflatable collar we saw him turning around and having a really good bite of his poor hind leg injury, which was very disappointing. So, if your dog has an injury in its upper body around its head or neck, then this would probably work, but it does not work at all for any lower body or hind leg injury and I think the company should clearly state this. Back to the cone and yes, the cone stops him accessing it completely. Very disappointing.

My New Zealand Huntaway has recently had an operation. This cushion is ideal for him for his comfort but also keeps him away from his wound. Very nice and soft. Lovely colour. The cover has a zip so that it can washed. Fits easily around his head which is better than putting his head through. It also gives me dog all round vision without restrictions. Communication from the supplier is fantastic after sales service. Very considerate. Very good purchase all around.

This is definitely more comfortable for the dog to wear than a cone, and less cumbersome. However, it’s really important to know what this can and can not prevent regards the dog licking themselves. Our dog’s wound is on the upper part of their rear leg and this ring does not prevent him from licking it. However, if the wound were closer to the front of their body then I’ve no doubt that this would do the trick.

Our goldie had an op and this is great for her. The xl id good size for our 34kg goldie as she couldnt get to her abdomen. She doesn‘t mind it at all as it’s nice and soft so that she can use it like a pillow too.

Firstly, great idea, for animals with a long-term requirement for a hood, these mean you can vary how enclosed they feel all the time.I found I swapped back to the cone of shame for bedtime as my 14kg cockapoo could sleep better being a side sleeper. Otherwise these ones meant he was lying with his neck in an awkward position & he also seems to snore more with these on.That said, during the day or when active these so much better… he could eat & drink more comfortably & play with his toys & it allows air around their ears etc so for long ear dogs like the spaniels – this is perfect & much healthier. The outer cover washes really nicely & is a soft fabric so appears comfortable- no issues with clumsy Velcro either, all nicely designed.Only bad thing is the zip – it gave way after 1st use & I hadn’t even fully inflated the airbag… as I didn’t use this immediately after buying – there didn’t seem to be a way to contact the seller. But otherwise I do recommend this style of hood!

Excellent cushion collar for your pet
I read the reviews and my labrador retriever recently had eye surgery. The plastic cones that the vet office gives you breaks and as soon as my dog would run into a wall or a chair it would crack the cone. My vet suggested to buy a cushion one that is durable. I saw this and because my dog, Sadie, hates the cone, I decided on this. I love it. You can thread the dog’s collar in the inside of the cushion so it won’t come off. I pump it up with a mini air pump bought here on Amazon (works like crazy) – this is the one I purchased https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CR31PFPN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title, and must say I am so happy with it. It is soft and comfortable and Sadie can’t get it off. She loves it. Also as soon as I placed it on her neck, I told her she was simply beautiful. Now she prances around with it. Thank you for a great product – I am a happy dog owner and Sadie is happy too b/c it is so comfortable and she is able to eat and drink water. The best part she can’t get to her eye. Please note I bought the XL and did measure her neck and it fits perfectly.
