I am so incredibly happy that I purchased this Salmon oil for my dog Remington. He was suffering from terrible itchy skin (caused by seasonal and central heating ). To the point he had hot spots on his back and a dull dry coat. I read about salmon oil for dogs and this one had good reviews. Well no wonder, it’s amazing, Remi has been having it for 2 1/2 weeks now, he has 7 squirts in total a day into his food. (The amount goes on the dogs weight and he’s a big boy). He finds it delicious and finishes all his meals, as let’s face it all dogs get a bit fed up with their food and sometimes leave some, but now his bowl is empty on every occasion thanks to mixing this oil in. As you can see from the pictures his coat is glossy, healthy and shiny and he’s not itching at all now. ( The photos don’t do justice to be fair)If your dog is suffering from itching and dry fur I highly advise you to try this. It’s worked wonders for Remington, he’s a happy and contented doggie.

First time I gave it to our dog she sniffed her food then looked at me as if to ask ‘What is this?’ I only give her about quarter of a teaspoon in her breakfast which she happily eats. It has quite a strong fishy smell,the reason I only give her a little. I must say that her fur is skinnier and softer which is great because she is usually quite rough coated. She is a Yorkie Chihuahua mix but definitely doesn’t have the silky coat that Yorkie’s are known for.

I have a 15 year old cocker and a 11 year old Springer. Neither are on any joint medication and both still love their walks off the lead at the local Chase. My Cocker still bounces around without a stiff bone in her body. I’ve always supplemented with joint vitamins and fish oils in different guises. This Salmon oil is really easy to dispense and makes it easy when they’re not having real Salmon, Sardines or similar. They seem to love the taste and I really think the Fish oils help them. This one seems good value and does the job.

Amazon asks for flavour ratings for this product and I’m ashamed to admit I haven’t tested this dog medicine myself personally. I love my dog more than most people but this is a bridge too far for me. What I will say is that my dog doesn’t seem to mind the taste when I add a few pumps to his kibble. I should also add however that my dog eats rabbit poops like Maltesers when given half a chance, so his is not the most refined or delicate of palates.Now as to the benefits to his health… He’s a 12.5 year old Samoyed, and aside from being the best dog in the world, (I’m sorry if you feel you have the best dog in the world, but you are in fact wrong), he is also growing stiff in his old age, has some arthritis in his joints, and like many breeds of sled dog, has some signs of arthritis in his hips especially. The object of the exercise is to get him to live for the longest possible time while still being healthy and happy. To that end I add five squirts of this stuff to his kibble every morning and a scoop of ‘Joint Aid for Dogs’. I think, although it’s very diffcult to be objective about this, that these are helping him. I’ve been giving it to him for about four months now and I think he’s a little less stiff in the mornings. I will do anything possible to keep him pain free and happy and this seems like a reasonable supplement to give to the old boy.I’ve deducted one star however because of the pump dispenser. This was my first bottle so I can’t yet say if all bottles are designed by Satan himself, but this one most certainly was. The problem is that it will only dispense a proper squirt if the bottle is placed on an absolutely flat surface, the dog bowl held precariously under the nozzle at an angle most likely to cause you to tip the food all down yourself. Even then you will find the oil squirts all down the outside edge of the bowl, or else just a wheezy puff of drops come out, over and over again, as though the bottle is empty. It’s a ghastly, enraging process and being subjected to it, every morning before I’ve had even a sip of coffee, sets my day off to a poor start. I’ve taken the whole thing apart and attempted to find the cause of my misery, but nothing is out of place. It simply is a hideous, sadistically awful design. On a more serious note, because of the difficulty of accurately dispensing the correct five squirts amount required for my weight of dog, I gave him too much yesterday after pumping about 25 times and only getting a light spray out on each attempt. This resulted in him having a stomach upset which was only relieved by a walk in the driving rain at midnight, followed by a light hosing in the garden to clean him up. Fun, fun, fun. So… be careful not to add too much on account of a faulty pump.Otherwise this is a good product. It’s Scottish apparently, which is fantastic, as anyone who’s been to this little corner of heaven can testify, and is keeping my dear old pooch as limber as can be expected in his twilight years. I should also add that his coat is exactly the same as it was when he was young. A luxurious cloud of beautiful Samoyed wool; thick, lustrous, and soft as velvet. I would be lost without him and try to do all I can to keep him with me as long as possible while still happy and content. People tell me they would guess his age at around 5 so evidently he’s doing well and this product may be partly responsible. Buy it, but be prepared to do a lot of swearing at the bottle. I have been using this product for just over a week now & it has made a big difference. My dog had very rough dry pads & I used to put coconut oil on them every night but it didn’t make any difference but after a week on the fish oil her pads are soft & hardly dry at all. Her coat is a lot softer & the black parts of her coat are glossy. I am impressed with this product & will subscribe as 2 pumps a day seems to work wonders. It does smell strong but she doesn’t seem to mind. A big thumbs up from me & Missy. Delivery was super quick, it arrived the day after ordering 👍

My 15 yr old cat had brown fur and a shaved belly from an old operation. I started giving her a squirt a day and now she looks like a shiny black top hat! All of the fur on her belly has grown back after years of being bare- and she laps it up. My other cat however won’t have any of it- a matter of taste I presume- more fool him!

My cat is a fussy eater and now licks the bowl clean. She has lost a lot of weight as she has aged and hopefully this will keep her maintained. Her coat was looking dry and itchy and after one week her coat is soft and shiny. She also seems to be moving better mobility wise. Pump dispenser makes it easy to use, no mess. Oil is thick and rich, smells delicious if you like that sort of thing. If you don’t like the fishy smell, good to know that the bottle keeps the smell well contained. So good I’ve put dog on it too and I may be next LOL. Will be ordering more.

It’s still early days but the product seems ok, the pump broke very quickly though and still have nearly a whole bottle of oil to use, there’s no measurement for usage over than by amount of pumps, so not a clue how much should be administered now.Ok product, shoddy bottle and pump.Improve your packaging or give measure details for when the pump breaks.
