I selected this item in the hopes it would ease our puppies anxiety at night while we acclimated him to sleeping in a living room without us present, as the anxiety would get too much and he’d often cry a little as we left. The first night he used this he was absolutely great and we were able to leave the room without him really noticing. Would highly reccomend to others for use in training situations but something I would then ween off as opposed to leaving all the time as this just masks a behaviour and doesn’t really treat the root cause. Overall, a useful tool when settling new pups.

We recently decided to try the heartbeat puppy toy for our dog, aiming to provide him some comfort during the times we have to leave him alone. This toy is a unique concept designed to mimic the presence of another living creature through a heartbeat simulator.Upon arrival, the puppy toy was vacuum-packed in a small box, but it impressively expanded to its full size quickly after being unpacked. The toy itself is soft-bodied with a charming white and brown colour scheme. Its size is suitable for both small and large dogs, making it a versatile choice for pet owners. One of the key features of this toy is the Velcro pouch underneath, which houses the heartbeat simulator. The process of inserting batteries and operating the simulator is straightforward. I appreciate that the simulator can last up to 8 hours, providing prolonged comfort to our dog.The box also includes two heat packs, but I encountered a bit of confusion here. It wasn’t clear how to use these packs, as there didn’t seem to be a specific opening on the toy for their insertion. This aspect could benefit from clearer instructions or design modifications. Our dog has taken a liking to the toy, often sleeping with it, especially when the heartbeat simulator is active. It appears to provide the intended comfort, making it a valuable tool for easing our dog’s anxiety.Regarding the price, I do feel it’s a bit on the higher side. A price range of £10-£15 would seem more reasonable, considering the toy’s features and functionality. In conclusion, the heartbeat puppy toy has been a hit in our household. Our dog enjoys both playing and sleeping with it, and the heartbeat feature seems to have a soothing effect. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in the usage of heat packs and the pricing, it serves its purpose well as a comforting companion for pets.

I ordered this to see if it could help deter my sister’s cat from scratching all her soft furnishings to pieces when she is out. It’s well made and larger than I expected. There is a Velcro pocket in the bottom of the body where you are supposed to put the heartbeat thingie, but where are you supposed to put the warming pack? Surely not in the same place – making the batteries nice and hot? Unfortunately, after some inquisitive sniffing, the cat has ignored the toy. However, my sister likes having it on her lap – so at least somebody is getting some anxiety relief!

I was intrigued as to what my dog would make of this “toy”. He never touches anything that isn’t his own but when it comes to his own toys my friends call him the dark destroyer! No soft toy has ever lasted more than 2 mins before being torn to shreds (I am convinced that they are sprayed with something to make them attractive to dogs). This one though he readily accepted with or without the heart beating. On one particular day he was under the weather and Fido was duly put alongside him with a blanket and heart beating and they slept together quite happily. When mine got up he took great care to make sure Fido wasnt knocked on the floor so as a comforter it really appears to work! I’ve not used the heat pads as he already has a self generating heat pad and he likes a blanket so i think that’s warm enough! As my old boy has always been insecure and fearful and tends to cling to me I think having this companion will help him in his dotage.I hadnt appreciated that the toy had its front paws stitched together though it looks like it is just tacked so could be undone if you want them to. It has a definite bend in it. The heartbeat is surprisingly realistic and when really quiet you can hear it beating. Some reviewers seem to have a smaller dog than this – the white one which looks almost puppy size and more solid hence the vacuum packing – this is the big brown one and end to end is not far short of 2′ and a lot more squishyI like it – and seemingly my dog does too. – we shall see if it is a lasting relationship thou!

Our dog is past puppy stage now, but I ordered this toy anyway because it looked quite soft and comforting which is the type of toy our dog likes. I was not disappointed in that respect. The poor little guy arrived shrink-wrapped and looking very sorry for himself, but after a little time of decompression, he’s just fine! Our dog immediaitely took it to her bed and laid her head on it. We tried the ‘heartbeat’ module after digging around for batteries (not supplied) and she wasn’t so sure of it then but I think that in time she might get to like it, especially if it keeps her calm as she gets quite nervous. As for the heat pads, they seem a bit odd. They only last for 24 hours and I’m not sure I’d like my dog to chew one and have it break in her mouth. She does like to nibble so I would have to watch her constantly. If you needed warmth in the toy, you could try inserting one of those USB rechargeable hand warmers which would be much more useful I reckon.Overall, I think this is a nice toy and our dog likes it, but it does seem expensive, probably because of the additional heartbeat mimic unit and the heat pads.

Wonderful puppy toy!
My puppy absolutely loves this stuffed animal. He plays with it a ton, tumbling around with it like a playmate. But also settles down and snuggles with it during his naps. His little teeth are razor sharp, yet he hasn’t been able to rip it open yet, so it seems to be made very well. I haven’t used the heat packs yet, but they’re a great added bonus! I put the heartbeat in at night, when it’s time for bed, and he sleeps straight through the night. I’m very happy with this toy!

Cute toy
I usually only buy toys for my Pit Bull because my Pomeranian doesn’t play with stuffed animals.I put this toy in my office yesterday and my Pomeranian cuddled up with it. (I work from home and I can’t go into the office without the dogs). She gets anxious with fireworks and thunder so I’m hoping she’ll like the heartbeat function of this toy when that happens.Anything I can do to reduce her anxiety I’ll try. This is a cute toy. Very soft and bigger than I thought it would be. My Pomeranian laid with her head resting on this toy.I am very happy she found a toy she loves. She won’t be carrying it around with her but at least she’s cuddling with it.I brought the toy in the living room and my Pit Bull snagged it. I’ll leave it in the office so my Pomeranian can enjoy it. My Pit Bull has enough toys. My Pomeranian on the other hand does not because she’s not a fan. Until this toy that is.Definitely recommend.

Good for Anxious Pets
I got this for my granddaughter’s very anxious Shitzu/chi mix who cries to be held 24/7. He took to it right away and is definitely interested in the heartbeat feature. He nudges it in the belly where the heartbeat thingie is located then settles down beside it for a few minutes at a time. We’re hoping he gets more attached to it after my granddaughter sleeps with it to give it her scent. The instructions for where/how to insert the batteries are clear enough but I don’t understand how the heat part works. There’re no instructions about how to activate it. Anyway, it seems dangerous to use the heat pack with a heavy chewer so we’re not going to use them. But the stuffed toy is very well made and nearly 2 ft long. I think it’s worth a try if you have a new puppy or an anxious older dog.
